Frequently asked questions

What age can my child start at Jump East Hanover?
2.5 years old. Children can begin their Jump experience in our bilingual preschool program, where early immersion sets the most effective foundation for true bilingual fluency.
What languages are taught at this location?
Spanish and Mandarin. Our preschool offers both immersion tracks. At the elementary level, Spanish immersion is available through 6th Grade, and Mandarin through 4th Grade. Mandarin will expand to include 5th Grade as of the '28/'29 school year, and to 6th Grade as of the '29/'30 school year.
How is bilingual immersion different from a language class?
It's the medium of instruction, not a subject. At Jump, children learn math, science, and literacy in Spanish or Mandarin – resulting in genuine fluency, not just vocabulary.
Is Jump a preschool or a private school?
Both. Jump East Hanover serves children from age 2.5 through 6th Grade – a full bilingual private school with a preschool program that feeds into a rigorous elementary curriculum.
How is Jump different from a Montessori or traditional private school?
Structured bilingual immersion is built into every subject, every day. Jump shares Montessori's belief in the whole child but pairs it with standards-aligned academics and language fluency as a core outcome, not an elective.
What does a typical day look like?
Instruction is conducted primarily in the immersion language throughout the day, moving through structured academic blocks, play-based learning at the preschool level, and social-emotional development – all within a community-oriented environment with extremely low teacher-to-student ratios.
Do I need to speak Spanish or Mandarin to enroll my child?
No. Most Jump families are native English speakers. The immersion model is designed to work regardless of the language spoken at home.
Are before and after care available?
Yes. Before care runs 7:30–9:00am and after care 3:00–6:00pm, making Jump a practical choice for working families.
