True bilingualism can open doors to college, scholarships, careers and a lifetime of opportunity. And students from Jump Immersion School’s first sixth-grade class at our East Hanover location are already demonstrating what’s possible.
Four of our sixth-graders, Katalina, John Marcos, Hayden, and Angelica, have earned the Global Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, making them among the youngest recipients in the world to achieve this distinction.
Their accomplishment recently caught the attention of ABC7 New York’s Tiempo, where host Joe Torres interviewed Katalina about earning the Global Seal and her experience learning through language immersion. Jump founder Jackie Sanin and Roxana Zapata, Executive Director of Educational Strategy & Planning, also joined the segment to discuss language immersion, biliteracy, and the opportunities that come from being truly proficient in two languages.
For these students, the Global Seal recognizes something powerful: they don’t simply study Spanish. They have developed the skills to communicate, learn, read, and write in two languages.
And for us, it represents something even bigger: they’re learning to lead in two languages.
