Bilingual School NJ: An Interview with Jackie Sanin, Founder of Jump Immersion School
We are so excited to have interviewed Jackie Sanin, the visionary founder of Jump Immersion School, to get a deeper insight into the heart and soul behind this innovative educational institution. Jackie shares her candid thoughts, experiences, and the driving force that led to creating a school redefining immersion education.
Q: Jackie, can you tell us a bit about what inspired you to start Jump Immersion School?
A: Absolutely. The inspiration came from a very personal place. I strongly desired to have my children embrace their language and heritage, which allowed me to observe firsthand the challenges and opportunities that come with learning a second language.
I wanted to create an environment where children could learn a new language seamlessly and be exposed to and appreciate different cultures. The goal was to foster global leaders from a young age, and that’s how Jump Immersion School was born.
Q: What sets Jump Immersion School apart from other immersion programs?
A: At Jump Immersion, we focus on a holistic approach to language learning. It’s not just about becoming fluent in a new language; it’s about understanding and appreciating the culture that comes with it.
Our curriculum is designed to engage students in meaningful activities that foster genuine interest and love for the language and culture. We also ensure that our teaching staff are native speakers, which provides an authentic learning experience.
Q: Can you share a success story that stands out to you?
A: There are so many stories that touch my heart, but one that stands out involves a shy student who joined us with no background in the target language. Initially, she struggled and was hesitant to participate.
However, through the supportive environment at Jump Immersion, she not only became fluent but also emerged as a leader in her class. Watching her transformation and seeing her confidence soar was incredibly rewarding.
Q: What challenges did you face while establishing Jump Immersion School, and how did you overcome them?
A: Like any new venture, there were numerous challenges, from finding the right educators to creating a curriculum that balances academic rigor with cultural enrichment. One of the biggest hurdles was building trust with parents and showing them the long-term value of immersion education. We focused on community engagement, shared success stories, and provided transparent communication. Over time, we built a strong community of supporters who saw the tangible benefits of our approach.
Q: Looking to the future, what are your aspirations for Jump Immersion School?
A: My vision for Jump Immersion School is to continue growing and reaching more families, making bilingual education accessible to all. I’m passionate about creating a scalable model that maintains the quality and integrity of our program. Ultimately, I want Jump Immersion to be the leader in innovative education methods, where we continuously explore and implement best practices in immersion education.
Q: Finally, what advice do you have for parents considering immersion education for their child?
A: My advice is to start early and stay committed. Learning a new language and adapting to a different culture is a marathon, not a sprint. It requires patience, encouragement, and support. Immersion education is one of the greatest gifts you can give your child; it opens doors to endless opportunities and fosters a mindset that values diversity and inclusion. Trust the process, and watch your child thrive in ways you never imagined.
